Description

Leading Edge V-Sharpener utilizes two 6" stone holders and fine angle adjusters. The angle range: 5 to 35 degrees. V-sharpener supports Edge Pro form-factor stones as well as flat-end 6" stones.

This version of V-Sharpener utilizes wide base and is available in color variations.

How to use

Attention! Sharpening stones are not included. Don't use strops and lapping films.

After minimal usage, the dovetail on one of the clamps has separated from the body of the stone holder, rendering this a one-sided sharpener. When inquiring about a replacement, Gritomatic stated that replacement parts were not available and offered 25% off a new unit. Not satisfied with the purchase or the customer support. I would avoid this one.

Overall great design. - Convenient: no clamping; just swing the knife on the stones - Versatile: takes 6x1 (or 6x2, which I have shown in my video) stones Con: - stone holders feel flimsy. Please refer to my video.

Fast delivery. I like that it works with my collection of stones. Although it is best if you have two stones of similar grit, I happen to have a pair of 600 diamond by two different makers but it also works well with a single stone… sharpen one edge then just turn the whole unit and sharpen the other edge. I sometimes put two stones of different grits in and then sharpen as described or it also works well to turn one stone holder close to you and look down the face of the stone from above and the knife can be moved from hand to hand. I hold the grip in one hand and fingers of the other to hold the edge flat against the stone. It’s a good sharpening tool.
